NEW ACOM ACTIVITY BEGINNING
We're happy to announce the formation of our new folksinging group! The first meeting will take place at 6 pm on April 6 at Nairy and Terry's house (1703 Skillman Ave W, Roseville, MN 55113). At 7 pm, following the songfest, we'll show The Genocide in Me. Please join us for one event or both. Email RSVP to [email protected] and let us know if you’ll be coming for the folksinging and/or the film.
And our regular Saturday Cinema Offering:
The Genocide in Me is one of the most insightful and poignant examinations of the cross-generational impact of the Armenian genocide and its denial. Raised by nationalistic Armenian parents, Araz Artinian has grown up with the Armenian Genocide as a backdrop to her identity and the identity of her family. Through conversations with her family, genocide survivors, and citizens of modern-day Turkey, she discovers the importance of remembrance and her own personal connection to the cultural heritage passed down from her parents.
